Donations of Materials:

Donated items must be in good clean condition; damaged or dirty items will not be accepted. Videos, DVD’s, CD’s, and cassettes must have original case and label.

The Library cannot accept:

• Encyclopedias / dictionaries
• Text books
• Catalogs, brochures, or magazines
• Financial or legal items more than 5 years old

We will send you a letter that we have received your items for tax purposes. We are unable however, to assign an appraised value for the donated items. You may wish to refer to IRS Taxpayer Information Publications 526, Charitable Contributions, and 561, Determining the Value of Donated Property, for assistance in deciding what value to claim for your donations. These publications can be found at http://www.irs.gov./

If donating a large quantity of items, please call 743-6519 in advance.

Books and other materials donated become property of the Lewiston City Library. If items are not added to our collection, they will be given to the Friends of the Library for their sale.
