Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary loan is a service that allows Lewiston City Library cardholders to get books and copies of articles not found in VALNet libraries. All other types of items, such as CDs, DVDs and sound recordings are not available by Interlibrary loan.
Locating and receiving a requested item usually takes one to four weeks. Most items can be picked up here at the Lewiston City Library. The library does not charge for this service and many requests can be filled through other non-charging libraries. Some libraries do charge fees ranging from $5 to $20. Copies or articles also have a photocopy charge. These costs are past on to the borrower.
To use this service, you must have a valid library card issued by the Lewiston City Library, with no fines or fees charged to your card.
To place a request, ask at the circulation desk. You can place a request online or call the library (208) 743-6519 during open hours for more information.
Please note that we do not accept credit cards for payment. All fees are due at the time the request is submitted.
